About Jeremy

Jeremy Mark Read was born in Seattle, Washington, January 1st 1982.

Jeremy led a normal life until the age of twelve when he became involved with gangs and crime. For the next four years he spent most of his time solidifying his criminal behavior in juvenile halls and institutions across Washington State.

At the age of sixteen, still under the custody of the Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration (JRA), Jeremy made a number of bad decisions that led him to take the life of a young man, Bruce Larson Jr., and being charged with murder in the second degree.

After a short trial Jeremy was convicted and sentenced to twenty eight years in prison. He was immediately sent to Clallam Bay Corrections Center, a maximum security prison.

With over fifteen years now served Jeremy is currently confined at Stafford Creek Corrections Center in Aberdeen, Washington, a minimum security prison. Here Jeremy participates in the Prisoners for Christ Ministries and organizes positive and rehabilitative programs, classes, workshops, committees and community service projects.

Unable to undo the harm he has caused, Jeremy had found redemption and purpose in Christ. Jeremy now focuses his energy on spreading the Gospel and paying back society for his negative acts by helping to prevent others from repeating similar acts.

Jeremy aims to continue his work in Christ when he returns to society. He plans to be an advocate for reform in the criminal justice system to promote the implementation of restorative justice policies (Hebrews 13:3), to work toward violence prevention with an emphasis on preventing youth violence (Matthew 5:9), and to be a victim advocated (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). Jeremy realizes that he was given the gift of his experiences, trials, tragedies and redemption as tools to serve others, to be an example of God’s love and grace, and to be an asset to society (1 Peter 4:10-13).

Jeremy is engaged to be married to the love of his life, Marcella Faith Rodriquez, and is blessed to have two amazing & awesome children, Alyssa (12) and Adrian (14).
